HOW TO SHAVE WITHOUT GETTING "CHICKEN SKIN" LEGS

And why our Whipped Body Mousse is your new best friend...

Let's be honest-we've all had those moments where you shave your legs, step out into the light...and suddenly notice the dreaded bumpy, dry, irritated skin. Welcome to the world of "chicken skin"-or what dermatologists can keratosis pilaris and post-shaving irritation. But it doesn't have to be this way.

With the right prep, technique, and aftercare, smooth, soft legs can be more than a once-off fluke. here's how to do it right-the JUSTBLiSS way.

Step 1: Exfoliate before you shave

Removing dead skin cells helps prevent clogged hair follicles (aka ingrowns) and give your razor a smooth path.

Try this: Use any JUSTBLiSS Foaming Body Scrub or exfoliating mitt before you hop in the shower.

Step 2: Use a creamy, nourishing base-NOT foam

Most commercial shaving creams are full of alcohols and sulfates that dry out your skin. Insted, use a rich, whipped product that protects your skin and lets the blade glide. Our pick? JUSTBLiSS Whipped Body Mousse! It's packed with plant butters and oils that soften hair and shield your skin during shaving. No niks, no tightness, just buttery-soft legs.

Step 3: Always shave on damp skin

Shaving dry skin is a fast track to razor burn. Let your legs soak in warm water for a few minutes first to soften both the hair and the skin. Then apply your mousse generously.

Step 4: Shave with the grain first (that means downward)

If your skin is easily irritated, always start by shaving downwards-in the same direction your hair naturally grows. This reduces tugging, razor burn, and the risk of "chicken skin".Once your skin is used to shaving or if you're after a closer result, you can carefully go upwards on a second pass-but only if your skin can handle it. And always with a rich, protective base like our Whipped Body Mousse.

Step 5: Moisturise immediately after

Seal the deal by applying a natural body oil or Whipped Body butter while your skin is still damp. This locks in hydration and soothes any micro-irritation from shaving.

Bonus Tips:

  • Use a clean, sharp razor every time.
  • Avoid shaving right before sun exposure.
  • Never use harsh alcohol-based products after shaving.

Say goodby to chicken legs.

Say hello to silky, glowing, touch-me legs-with just one jar of mousse.
